Material Gifts and Donations
If you would like to make an in-kind donation, please contact us! Below are some ideas about our needs and how to transport. For donated items, please ask and we will be happy to provide a receipt.
Supplies/food/clothing/giftcards
If you or your group are bringing donations to us, we recommend that you spread the items out over a number of vehicles so that customs agents don’t mistake you for an import/export business. Every person is allowed to cross $75 worth of new items otherwise the items must be declared and taxes paid.
We are always in need of food*, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, shampoo, deodorant, feminine hygiene products, new underwear, new socks, and jeans. (*Food items: cans, jars, boxes, bags, plus fresh melons, fruits and vegetables and meat in coolers.)
USED CLOTHING: It is illegal to cross bags of used clothing into Mexico. We can accept new clothing.
If bringing items across the border makes you nervous, please know we respect specified financial donations (food, clothing, school supplies, etc.).
Also, please know that Costco, Walmart, or Home Depot gift cards are greatly appreciated and can be mailed to: PO Box 783, Yorba Linda, CA 92885.
Amazon Wishlist
Order directly from our Amazon Wishlist. Deliveries are sent to La Hermosa Church in Primo Tapia and will be transferred up to the Orphanage each weekend.
Donate a vehicle
We need vans, trucks or cars to get our kids to school, doctor appointments, church and youth group, church events, and to pick up groceries, etc. Since we will not sell the vehicle and are a registered 501c3 non-profit, you can take its full value as a tax deduction. It doesn’t even need to pass smog! Contact us and we will help work out all the details.
